Real Madrid Lose Appeal Over Jude Bellingham’s Ban

According to referee Jose Munuera Montero’s match report, Bellingham directed profanity at him, stating “f*** you”.

As a result, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) issued a two-match ban, citing Bellingham’s “contemptuous or inconsiderate attitudes” towards referees and officials.

Bellingham disputed the allegations, claiming he had not insulted the referee but rather made “an expression to myself”.

Real Madrid also argued that Bellingham had said “f** off” instead of “f** you”, but the appeals committee deemed this distinction “not relevant”.

The appeals committee ultimately upheld the two-match suspension, which will force Bellingham to miss Real Madrid’s upcoming league matches against Girona and Real Betis.

Bellingham will be ineligible for the first leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid due to accumulating three yellow cards in the European campaign.
