Real Madrid leads Fifpro nominations with eight players, including Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, and Vinicius Junior.
Real Madrid’s eight nominations are the most of any club, surpassing Manchester City’s seven nominees.
City’s seven are goalkeeper Ederson, defenders Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker, midfielders Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden, and striker Erling Haaland.
The Fifpro nominations also recognize the achievements of women’s footballers, with nine England Lionesses shortlisted for the women’s World 11 award.
Women’s Super League champions Chelsea have four players nominated, including forward Lauren James and defenders Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, and Jess Carter.
Other notable nominees include Spain and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati, who won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second year in a row, and Zambia and Orlando Pride striker Barbra Banda, BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2024.
The Fifpro World 11 award is voted for solely by fellow professional footballers. Global players’ union Fifpro say over 21,000 men’s players from 70 countries have voted, while over 7,000 women’s footballers have cast their votes.
FIFA will announce the two World 11 sides at the Best awards on 9 December.
