Raphinha revealed that he was proud of how Brazil played against Uruguay despite fans booing after the 1-1 draw.
It was yet another frustrating outing for the Selecao as they came from behind to hold Uruguay to a 1-1 draw at the Arena Fonte Nova in Bahia.
Real Madrid star Federico Valverde opened the scoring for the visitors in the 55th minute but former AS Roma midfielder Gerson scored a spectacular equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared in the World Cup qualifying clash.
The five-time world champions are now fifth in the 2026 World Cup CONMEBOL qualifying table having managed to win just five of their 12 matches so far.
After the frustrating draw, Brazil fans booed Dorival Junior’s team as they left the pitch.
Nevertheless, Barcelona winger Raphinha insisted that Brazil put in a strong performance.
Speaking to TV Globo via TNT Sports, Raphinha said: “We played really well.
“The truth is that I’m very proud of everyone.
“Based on what we did here today, it’s going to be difficult to beat us.”
When asked about the boos from Brazil fans, Raphinha added: “The booing is for the result. Excuse the word, but we played like hell.”
