A video capturing the moment residents of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, stormed the streets to protest the lingering scarcity of fuel and the Naira note has emerged.

Aladesanmi, Fajol and Somorin in Obantoko area of Abeokuta on Tuesday were taken over by the protesters, making bonfires and chanting protest songs.
The pain of not being able to get naira notes from ATMs at bank premises also showed up.
According to reports, the Sapon branch of First Bank was vandalised as the protesters attempted to set it ablaze.
The spokesman of Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the protest.
He said officers were monitoring the situation to prevent the destruction of property and loss of lives.

However, as at the time of filing this report, operatives of the police has been mobilised to the locations.
They succeeded in dispersing the protesters, but they regrouped in greater intensity, as soon as the operatives withdrew from the scene.
Again, the made bonfire with disposed tyres.
The situation disrupted vehicular movement as motorists and pedestrians ran off the road in safe directions to avoid the protesters.
