Complaints from Nigerians about the excessiveness of Point of Sale (PoS) operators seems to have attracted the attention of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Since the scarcity of the naira note began, it has become easy to lose hard earned money.
In fact it is making the naira lose value fast.
All PoS operators have been charging between ₦1000, ₦1,500, and ₦2000 for every ₦5000 and ₦10,000 withdrawn by customers and ₦300 for ₦1000.
Addressing this situation, the Apex bank recently vowed to punish any erring PoS agent caught charging above the official charge rate approved by the CBN.

Close To 1 Billion Naira Disbursed
Speaking with journalists the Director, CBN Risk Management department, Blaise Ijebor, revealed that the CBN is partnering with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on this development.
Blaise explained that the partnership involves investigation into the allegation being leveled against PoS operators by Nigerians.
He declared that any agent found culpable of inflating the charges on customers who withdraw money from the PoS will be handed over to the EFCC for prosecution.
The CBN Director assured that the CBN is working with the state government to improve the situation, revealing that close to ₦1 billion has been disbursed to banks so that the people can make a withdrawal.
