Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has once again made headlines by taking to social media to express his frustration with Davido.
He accused the Afrobeat superstar of failing to deliver on a promised verse for his new song.
The tension between the two artists appears to have escalated after a previous disagreement in Atlanta, United States, in June 2024.
According to Portable, the fallout began when he accused Davido of giving him bad advice during a dinner meeting in Atlanta.
The disagreement led to Davido unfollowing Portable on Instagram, signaling a rift between the two.
Despite the tension, Portable had hoped to feature Davido on his latest track, a collaboration that he believed would have added significant value to the project.
On Sunday, Portable shared his new release on his official Instagram page, revealing that the song was initially supposed to include a verse from Davido.
In his post, Portable expressed his disappointment, writing: “Na who helps you be your helper; who promises you fit change mind. As @davido no gree give me verse on this song, I don kuku drop myself. Star. Don’t beg to shine. Who go help you no go stress you”.
Portable’s remarks suggest that he feels let down by Davido’s decision not to contribute to the song, despite the earlier promise.
However, in a show of resilience, Portable decided to release the track on his own, emphasising that true stars don’t need to beg for support to shine.
