Weddings are special occasions that bring people together, but when well-known figures are involved, they often grab the attention of the media and of course, the general public.
On Friday, President Bola Tinubu, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, governors, senators, and other prominent figures attended the wedding fatiha of Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin’s children.
Wedding Ceremony Of Senator Barau Jibrin’s Children
The ceremony marked the union of Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba) and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Abubakar Abdulmunaf, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies.
Held at the National Mosque in Abuja, the event took place after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers and was officiated by Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the mosque’s Imam.
Speaker Abbas, representing Tinubu, served as Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children.

Dignitaries In Attendance
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje acted as Waliy for the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, while Senator Tanko Almakura stood as Wakil for Abubakar.
Dignitaries from across Nigeria attended the ceremony, including governors such as Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan led a delegation of senators, including Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Bomai, Buhari Abdulfatai, and Shehu Buba, among others.
Members of the ECOWAS Parliament, including Fourth Deputy Speaker Billay G. Tunkara, were also in attendance.
Presidential aides at the event included Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
