The Ogun State Government has closed some highways in Abeokuta, the state capital. All of that was done ahead of the inauguration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for a second term.
Abiodun’s inauguration held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta.
As a result, the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps warned motorists that traffic will be rerouted inbound and outgoing the stadium axis this morning.
TRACE Corps spokesman in Ogun State, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said “the NNPC flyover will be closed to traffic and vehicles would be routed through an underpass.
“Alternative routes and parking spots will be plotted out and controlled by security and safety personnel.

“There will be a traffic diversion at NNPC to the right towards Abiola Way-Leme-Iyana/Mortuary for vehicles coming inbound Abeokuta from the Sagamu/Interchange-Laderin-Okemosan.
“All buses arriving from outside Abeokuta via the Sagamu/Interchange would be diverted to the right at the NNPC towards Abiola-Way-Leme Junction.
“They would make a U-turn to the left inbound NNPC before turning right to the stadium via the road/gate opposite Providence Hotel,” he said.
Furthermore, he stated that save for vehicles scheduled for the event, there will be no access route from Iyana/Mortuary to NNPC.
Additionally, traffic from Kuto to the stadium and the NNPC would be redirected to IBB Boulevard-GTBank-CBN and Ibara Baptist Church.
TRACE’s spokeswoman stated that the agency would collaborate with other law enforcement authorities to reduce and avoid traffic congestion on all roads to and from the stadium.
