The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted rainy weather and thunderstorms across various parts of the country from Monday, July 15, to Wednesday, July 17.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook released on Sunday, July 14, in Abuja, morning thunderstorms are expected in parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna States.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are forecasted for Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa States.
In the North Central region, morning rains are anticipated in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, and Nasarawa States.
Thunderstorms and rains are expected later in the day in the FCT, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi States.
Southern Region
For the southern region, morning drizzle and rains are expected in parts of Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States. Intermittent rains are anticipated across the entire southern region in the afternoon and evening hours.
On Tuesday, NiMet predicts morning thunderstorms in Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa States.
Thunderstorms are also expected later in the day in Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa States.
North Central Region
In the North Central region, morning rains are forecasted for the FCT, Benue, and Kogi States, with thunderstorms and rains expected later in the day in the FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States.
In the southern region, morning rains are anticipated in parts of Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States. Thunderstorms and intermittent rains are expected across the entire southern region in the afternoon and evening hours.
For Wednesday, NiMet expects morning thunderstorms in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, with thunderstorms predicted across the entire region later in the day.
In the North Central region, morning rains are forecasted for Niger and Kwara States, with thunderstorms and rains expected later in the day in Plateau, Nasarawa, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue States.
In the southern region, morning rains are anticipated in parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom States, with intermittent rains expected across the entire region in the afternoon and evening hours.
