Nigeria Dismisses Accusations Of Role In Niger Oil Pipeline Assault

On December 13, 2024, an attack on the Niger-Benin oil pipeline in Gaya, Dosso Region, Niger, prompted accusations that the Lakurawa terrorist group, allegedly supported by foreign security forces, including Nigerian personnel, was responsible.

In response, the Nigerian government quickly refuted these claims.

Acting spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, issued a statement condemning the attack and expressing condolences to the Government of Niger.

Nigeria firmly denied any involvement, asserting that its authorities neither supported nor assisted the attackers.
