The National Examination Council (NECO) has announced the results of the 2024 common entrance examination for Unity schools.
During a press briefing held on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, disclosed that out of a total of 71,291 candidates who participated in the examination, 13 candidates received the minimum score.
The 13 candidates scored 01, the lowest possible grade, among other statistics.
The 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) was conducted across 599 centres nationwide on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
The examination, a critical step for admission into federal government colleges (Unity schools), saw significant participation from across the country.
State With Highest NECO Candidates
According to data released by NECO, Lagos State is the state with the highest number of candidates, totaling 17,751.

Following closely was the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 10,209 candidates, while Anambra State secured the third position with 4,972 candidates.
Highest Score
According to Sununu, a total of 4,360 candidates were absent while 66,931 were present.
The minister noted that one candidate scored the highest score of 203 out of the obtainable score of 210.
Dr. Sununu emphasised the importance of the examination in the admission process for Unity schools.
He also reassured stakeholders of the government’s commitment to improving educational standards across Nigeria.
The Minister further noted that the overall performance of candidates and other statistical details would be made available to the public through NECO’s official channels in the coming days.
How To Access NECO Results
For candidates and parents awaiting individual results, NECO says results will be accessible online via its official website. Also, parents and candidates can access results through designated SMS services provided by the council.
The release of the 2024 NCEE results marks a significant milestone in the educational calendar.
It paves the way for successful candidates to proceed with the next phase of their academic journey in Unity schools nationwide.
