Napoli are reportedly ready to drop their asking price for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as his future grows ever more uncertain.
The striker who scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 25 league appearances for Napoli last season, is looking for a move away from Serie A, but Napoli’s initial €150 million release clause has warded off potential suitors.
According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, via Football Italia, the former Serie A champions may now be ready to lower that initial valuation to €100 million, hoping to free up much-needed transfer funds for new boss Antonio Conte.
Conte is desperate to land Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Longo also states that Chelsea, previously understood to be in pole position to sign Osimhen, have never opened any negotiations with Napoli.
Currently, the only viable options seem to be the Saudi Pro-League, which has reportedly offered Osimhen a salary of €40 million per season, or Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Osimhen is not keen on either option and prefers a move to the English Premier League.
