The social media space exploded like a time bomb after the emergence of reports of the arrest of Bobrisky, a popular crossdresser, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His arrest sparked numerous reactions from Nigerians on and off social media with many wondering if Bobrisky “will be locked in a male or female cell”.
Bobrisky was arrested on Wednesday night in Lagos for allegedly abusing the naira notes.
According to the commission, the 32-year-old was invited after a video of her went viral.
In that video, he was captured spraying and flaunting wads of new naira notes at the premiere of ‘Ajakaju’, a movie by Eniola Ajao.
More Trouble For Bobrisky
Sadly, that viral video only seemed to be the beginning of Bobrisky’s troubles.
It prompted an investigation by the EFCC.
That investigation, according to the commission revealed that Bobrisky had also “committed the offence at some other event centres and parties at different times”.
The agency said Bob honoured its invitation at its Lagos zonal command for interrogation and volunteered his statement.
The commission added that the influencer would soon be charged upon the conclusion of investigations.
Where Will Bob Be Kept?
The above question has not left the minds of many Nigerians.
Shortly after the arrest of Bobrisky, some social media users wondered if the social media celebrity “will be locked in a male or female cell”.
“Which cell dem go con lock bob risky for? Male or female cell?” a user asked.
The reason is not far fetched.
You see, Bobrisky, real named, Idris Okuneye, was born a male in August 31, 1991.
However, to the greatest surprise of everyone, the influencer followed the cross dressing path.
He turned himself into a full blown woman, implanting breasts.
In fact, in a recent event, we mean the same movie premiere which landed him in this trouble, he was awarded the Best Dressed Female celebrity.
Imagine the reaction this had sparked from Nigerians.
As a matter of fact, it was not a mere reaction, it was an outright rejection.
The host of that event had to tender an apology and reverse the award just to cool the boiling tempers of Nigerians, especially women.

While a segment of users commended the agency for identifying Bobrisky as “he”, others described the crossdresser’s arrest as “unfair”.
Furthermore, Dipo Awojide, a social media celebrity, also called on the EFCC to investigate other prominent Nigerians who may have abused the naira.
A Special Cell
The question of where Bob will be kept is one that gained interest from Nigerians.
Indeed, this has pushed the EFCC to give a response to it.
The commission disclosed that the embattled crossdresser is being held in a special cell.
In a bid to confirm where the crossdresser was kept, The EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale was contacted.
