In a surprising move, the MTN has decided to close all its offices across the country.
MTN says it will shut down all its offices across Nigeria for 24 hours, starting July 30.
This action is a response to recent vandalism incidents linked to the government’s NIN-SIM linkage policy, which involved disconnecting customers’ lines.
The company, which is a major telecommunications provider, has been facing criticism and challenges related to the blocking of SIM cards.
This issue has stirred significant public concern and frustration, prompting MTN to take this drastic step.
In a statement on X, MTN urged affected customers to utilise digital support channels for assistance during the closure.
The company has also provided a step-by-step guide for subscribers to unblock their SIMs online.
