South African media personality, Kefilwe Mabote, has shed light on her decision to destroy her expensive designer clothes following her commitment to her Christian faith.
Kefilwe Mabote recently stirred controversy after posting a video of herself burning luxury items.
Also, this includes pieces from Versace.
The act sparked widespread criticism, with many questioning why she didn’t donate the clothes to those in need instead.
Addressing the backlash in a new Instagram post, Mabote explained that her actions were guided by her spiritual convictions.
She cited biblical teachings, particularly referencing Joshua 7:13, which describes certain items as “accursed.”
“I’ve been receiving questions about why I chose to burn Versace items instead of giving them away, and I want to explain with care and understanding,” she wrote.
“The decision to burn the items came from a place of conviction. According to the Bible, such things are considered ‘accursed.’
“For instance, the image of Medusa represents a Greek deity associated with the marine kingdom. As believers, we cannot serve two masters. To give these items away would mean passing on something I no longer stand for, and I cannot, in good conscience, transfer items that carry deep spiritual implications.”
