Nigerian singer Mr May D has stirred controversy by claiming that Grammy-winning artiste Wizkid wouldn’t have reached his current level of success if he hadn’t fallen out with his former record label, Square Records.
The claim was made during a heated exchange with Wizkid fans on X, where May D wrote, “If no be wetin happen between me and Psquare, who be Wiz [Wizkid]? Chai.”
The comment followed a post by May D praising Wizkid’s rival, Davido, which led to a wave of attacks from Wizkid fans.
Responding to the backlash, May D said, “Because I spoke about David, Wizkid boys are attacking me Lmao.”
“Even Wiz knows I love him, but if y’all come for me I’ll finish all of you and your oga.”
He continued, “Even your Wizkid knows his limits!
