Manchester City hope to capitalise on Kylian Mbappe’s imminent arrival at Real Madrid by offering Rodrygo an escape route from the Spanish giants.
The club is considering a bid to lure the Brazilian attacker away from the Spanish capital this summer.
According to Marca, Rodrygo could leave to make way for Mbappe, whose free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Madrid will be confirmed imminently.
However, Madrid are not concerned about the 23-year-old’s future at this point.
Speculation around the former Santos star’s future has been building as Mbappe’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu draws closer.
Rodrygo has insisted that he does not want to leave Madrid.
However, he suggested that he would be open to a move should he lose his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
“Of course, I want to stay here for many years.
“I want to be here as long as I feel that I help and I’m important to the team,” he said.
“And from the moment when I see that I’m no longer important, maybe it’s time to look for another place.”
Rodrygo signed a contract extension with Madrid in November that runs until 2028.
He remains a key player for Ancelotti’s men, having scored 17 times in 50 games to help them to another La Liga crown as well as the Champions League final.

Rodrygo will hope to lift the Champions League trophy this weekend when his side meet Borussia Dortmund in the final on Saturday.
Whether he remains such a key figure for the team next season despite the presence of Mbappe remains to be seen.
