Napoli are in advanced talks with Chelsea to sign Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku permanently this summer.
Per Fabrizio Romano, the 2022-23 Serie A champions have tabled a formal bid to sign Chelsea outcast Lukaku.
The two clubs are now in direct talks over the terms of the deal as the Blues look to permanently offload their £100million (€116m/$127m) flop in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The journalist further claimed that the Lukaku deal is separate from Victor Osimhen’s and Chelsea will only begin talks to sign the Nigerian forward once the Belgium international’s deal gets finalised.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for quite some time as the attacker has informed Gli Azzurri that he wants to leave the club this summer.
Lukaku enjoyed a successful loan spell in Italy last season as he scored 21 goals across all competitions in 47 appearances for AS Roma and provided four assists.
