The gubernatorial race in Edo State is almost coming to an end.
Now, after casting their votes at the various polling units in the state, residents and citizens of Edo State are eager to meet their new governor.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had since commenced the collation and upload of election results from different polling units.
However, as of the time of filing this report, 2,290 results out of 4,519 polling units in the Edo State governorship election had been uploaded to the IREV portal.
This translates to 50.67 percent of the results from the election in the INEC Result Viewing Portal.

Meanwhile, a shocking twist of events saw the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo, defeating the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Olumide Akpata, at his (Akpata) polling unit.
According to the result announced at Polling Unit 11, Ward 06, Oredo Local Government Area, Ighodalo polled 41 votes while Akpata trailed with 32 votes.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo, came third with 19 votes.
