The number of fire outbreaks that have hit parts of Nigeria in January 2024 alone is quite alarming.
This shows that many people do not consider possibilities of an outburst of flame and put precautionary measures in place.

Here is a list of fire outbreaks that have occurred between January 8 and 21, 2024.
1. Government Girls Secondary School, Zullum and NRC Camps of Mafa, Ngala
2. Kaga Local Government Areas (LGAs)
3. Tukuleri Host Community of Mafa LGA in Borno State.
4. Kidanda Giwa LGA, Kaduna
5. Ibadan fire explosion which happened on January 16 was caused by illegal mining operations in the state.
6. Balogun market in Lagos on January 21, 2024

Lives and properties were lost in these outbreaks leaving many homeless and displaced.
