Politics is indeed not a game for children, especially in Nigeria’s political space where it is tagged: A dirty game. Olumide Oworuwas has got a share of it.
In Nigeria, politics is a do or die game where friends become foes. People think the money available for looting is the reason.
In times of politics, parents hardly allow their children to go outside, those who take the risk, do so with strict warning that the child returns home very early.
Are you still wondering why?
One of the reasons is what happened to Olumide Oworu.
Oworu is the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency 1.
He is seeking to unseat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Desmond Eliot.
The Attack
The LP candidate was attacked during his campaign in the Surulere area of Lagos State.
The 28-year-old actor cum politician narrowly escaped unhurt when some unidentified hoodlums suspected to be political thugs reportedly attacked his team during a Labour Party campaign walk on Thursday, March 16.
I Am Not Deterred
Speaking about the incident, the 28-year-old via his verified Twitter handle said that some members of his team sustained injury during the attack.
He further assured his supporters that he would not be deterred. Rather, will be more committed to seeing through the campaign.
