The announcement was made through a teaser trailer released by Apple Music, featuring a playful scene where SZA pours a cooler of Gatorade over Lamar’s head.

This performance marks Lamar’s second appearance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, following his participation in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

The collaboration between Lamar and SZA comes ahead of their co-headlined Grand National Tour, a 19-city North American stadium tour beginning in April 2025.

The tour will include stops in cities such as Houston, Los Angeles, and Chicago, culminating in Washington, D.C., on June 18, 2025.

Both artistes have a history of successful collaborations, notably the Grammy and Oscar-nominated song “All the Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack.

They also recently worked together on Lamar’s 2024 album GNX.

The Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show will be produced by Diversified Production Services, Roc Nation, and Jesse Collins, with creative direction by Lamar’s company, pgLang.

Leading up to the performance, SZA has garnered two Grammy nominations for her single “Saturn,” while Lamar has received seven nominations, including for “Like That” and “Not Like Us.”
