The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) finger Hope Uzodima, the Governor of Imo state, over the death of Obudi Agwa, a traditional ruler in Imo state.
In a statement signed by Emma Powerful, Media and Publicity Secretary for IPOB, Uzodima’s Ebubeagu militia was said to have been used by the governor to murder the royal leader.

The statement reads in part, ”HRH Eze (Dr) Ignatius Asor of Obudi Agwa of Oguta had no problem with IPOB and ESN. IPOB and ESN don’t kill our own. The Royal Father was murdered by Hope Uzodima’s Ebubeagu militia because the man asked him to stop his murderous actions against his subjects
“IPOB has no hand in this barbarism and we cannot be involved in killing innocent citizens of Biafran that we are dying and going to prison to save. We commiserate with the families of the Monarch and those murdered in cold-blood at Obudi Agwa in Oguta LGA, Imo State. Command spokesman of police in Imo State, CSP Micheal Abattam should stop their usual public deception and properly investigate and identify the killers of this Royal Father instead of blaming IPOB. The game of arranging innocent people and have them to claim being IPOB members or ESN operatives so as to justify their blackmail is over.”
IPOB also accused Uzodima of using Ebubeagu to massacre many Izombe Indigens which was condemned by the Traditional leader.
IPOB urged all Traditional Rulers and Religious Leaders of Biafra to beef up their security as war looms against their leaders.
The traditional ruler, Obudi-Agwa, and three others were said to have been killed by gunmen, on Monday but the attack was blamed on Biafran separatists.
