A girl that asked her parents for iPhone 8 for a birthday gift is getting dragged on the internet.
In African homes, sometimes asking parents for gifts, especially if they think you’re not doing as well as your friends, can upset them.
This happened to a young TikToker named Pretty Yoruba Girl, and it’s a situation many of us can understand.
In the 3-minute video that went viral on Monday, she shared the caption, “POV: Your birthday is coming, and as a responsible girl, you asked your dad for an iPhone 8.
She made a call to her father, and she decided to film the conversation between them.
The father was heard suggesting that she may sell her body if she desires an iPhone, asserting that girls with such phones are morally corrupt.
He also said some words that could take a toll on his daughter.

Many Nigerians who saw the young girl’s video felt sorry for her, while others didn’t. The request for iPhone 8 did not sit well with so many persons who called her names.
For some, she was already a deviant that had given her parents tough times.
Here are some comments.
POV: what if the parents has done everything for her to enter into a good Uni and she hasn’t been all serious with it? Maybe that’s why they are that angry?

Just watched a video of a girl that asked for iPhone and proceeded to record her parents response… hmm. I can hear concern and pain from her parents but her countenance and action says it all. Hearing that she’s yet to gain admission but is more interested in iPhone… iPhone 8…
