If you do not know where your polling unit is, the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made it easy for you to locate it.
Voters registered to any of the newly created polling units can also easily locate it.
According to the electoral umpire, voters attached to new polling units will receive a text message that will enable them to know their polling units.
The messages would be sent to the mobile numbers used during registration of their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
The message notification would aid in making voting more credible and result management more transparent, INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, says.
Also, he noted that the register of such voters for each state had been sent to the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for publicity.
“In our effort to make voting more credible and result management more transparent, the commission introduced a number of innovations facilitated by technology.
“Equally, we expanded voter access to polling units by establishing 56,872 new ones, in order to give Nigerians a more pleasant experience on Election Day.
“As I have said repeatedly, the right to vote can only be exercised where there is a place to vote,” Mr Yakubu said.
Furthermore, the commission would disseminate information about election in local languages.
How To Find Your Polling Unit
The INEC chairman has advised all eligible voters to confirm their polling units ahead of Election Day to avoid showing up at the wrong location.
“Arising from the recent mock accreditation exercise nationwide using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, some voters turned up at the wrong polling units,” he said.
He has given options for those registered to old polling units but do not know how to locate them.

“Furthermore, the commission is offering two unique ways by which all voters can locate and confirm their polling units before Election Day.
“This can be done by sending a normal text message or by simply visiting our website.
“The detailed procedure is uploaded to our website and social media platforms.
“You can also send inquiries to our various public outreach platforms shown in the procedure.
“I urge all eligible voters to confirm their voting locations ahead of Election Day.
“In doing so, you would be contributing to our avowed commitment to delivering credible, inclusive and transparent elections,” Mr Yakubu adds.
