Surely but slowly, everything that is hidden will come to limelight one day. That is how this life is. Investigations into the death of Mohbad is proving this point again, with an auxiliary nurse as prime suspect.
When Mohbad died on September 12, not even the auxiliary nurse who treated him had a glimpse of what was to come. Now she is the prime suspect.
Basically, the police are pushing the auxiliary nurse, Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, forward as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death.
On Friday, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, said there were indications that the injections administered by the nurse caused a chain of reactions, leading to the death of the Afrobeat singer.
His real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba. Indeed, he was a fast-rising star before his death at the age of 27. Even his death further pushed him to the highest point of his career.
However, due to the controversy surrounding his death, police exhumed his body for further investigation.
After weeks of the exhumation, police came out with their findings so far.
Three Different Injections
According to the police, Mohabad died on the same day the auxiliary nurse began treating him.
Nurse Ogedengbe was brought in on September 11 by Ayobami Sadiq aka Spending.
Sadiq is a friend of Mohbad to treat the singer in his Lekki home.
“She eventually came on Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, and administered three different injections, which are believed to have occasioned the chain of reactions that directly resulted in the eventual death of the singer,” Owohunwa said.
Furthermore, the police boss said: “She is the principal suspect in the death of Mohbad.
“She acknowledged that it was the injections she administered on the deceased that triggered the reactions which eventually led to Mohbad’s death”.
Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol And Cetrazone
Also, the police said other expert opinions and witnesses’ statements corroborated her admittance.
“Her action of administering doses of tetanus toxoid, paracetamol (intravenous), and Cetrazone injection, which was also administered intravenously to Mohbad at his residence on 12 September, 2023, immediately triggered the reactions, including vomiting, goose bumps and convulsion that eventually resulted in the singer’s death,” Owohunwa said.
“This criminal liability is further heightened, granted the evidential fact that as an auxiliary nurse, she is not qualified to administer such medications or function as a qualified nurse.
“She also did this in a non-clinical environment and in a professionally negligent manner that negated standard medical protocols.”

Earlier, an inquest into the death of the singer had opened in Ikorodu court, with media barred from the proceedings.
