Blair said that the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which he created, will be a willing partner of the Tinubu administration’s new government, particularly in prioritising its aims and implementation.

According to Tinubu’s spokeswoman, Abdulaziz Yari, Blair made the pledge during a visit to the president-elect at the Defence House in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

“We would like to assist your administration in any way. We simply need to know what the leadership priorities are and how to actualize them,” Blair stated.

He also praised Tinubu’s campaign focus on crucial sectors such as security, economy, agriculture, and power, citing the interconnected nature of the areas as critical to any nation’s progress.

“Being in government today is difficult anywhere in the world. You have things happening around the world that affect you and for which you can’t do much,” Blair added.

Tinubu will be sworn in as Nigeria’s next president on Monday, May 29, at Eagles Square in Abuja, succeeding Muhammadu Buhari.

He defeated Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 presidential election.
