Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, contested for the office on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Many had expected him to show support for the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election.

However, just like Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, he expressed support for the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Tinubu.

Mr Tinubu with the support of Fayose, Wike, and many others won the presidential election on February 25.

Plans To ‘Unseat’ Tinubu

Tinubu’s win did not please his opponents and some of them decided to challenge his win in court.

However, Fayose says anyone planning to “unseat” President-elect Bola Tinubu is “daydreaming”.

According to Fayose, the 2023 presidential election has “come and gone” and aggrieved parties should approach the court.

The ex-governor said he would not apologise for supporting Tinubu despite going against his party.

“I’m not desperate for any appointment. I’m somebody who will not cringe because of a piece of meal,” Fayose reveals.

“I’m contented, but for anybody to say he would unseat Ahmed Bola Tinubu, you are daydreaming. It is a nightmare you are putting yourself through.

“That election has come and gone.

“In America, the former president is still saying he was rigged,” he stressed.

Also, the former Ekiti governor says he will never join the APC, insisting that he has withdrawn from partisan politics.
