In response to rising violence in the United Kingdom, the Federal Government has issued a travel advisory for Nigerians currently in the UK.
The alert, announced by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ambassador Eche Abu-Ode, addresses unrest following a tragic attack in Southport.
A knife attack at a children’s dance class last Monday killed three girls and injured ten others, sparking widespread protest.
The protest intensified due to misinformation that the attacker was an immigrant and a radical Islamist, though British police clarified otherwise.

The ministry advised contacting the Nigerian High Commission in the UK for information via email (hc@nigeriahc.org.uk) or phone (+442078391244).
Meanwhile, British police have confirmed the suspect is a British national and are not treating the attack as terrorism.
Nigerians are urged to remain cautious and stay informed as tensions continue to rise.
