Portugal’s head coach, Fernando Santos has been sacked following their World Cup exit.
Portugal exited the 2022 World Cup after a shocking 1-0 loss to Morocco in the quarter-finals in Qatar.
Santos, who led Portugal to victory at Euro 2016 as well as the inaugural Nations League in 2018-19, could unfortunately not lead the team to victory this year.
Santos had taken the bold decision to drop star player, Cristiano Ronaldo midway through the World Cup.
This decision repeatedly raised questions as Ronaldo denied a report which claimed he had threatened to leave Qatar in an exchange with his head coach.
