A relative of former Interior Minister, Retd. Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, identified as George Nkem Iheanacho has reportedly used connections with the former minister to escape justice for killing his lover.
This was revealed by Erokoro Okon, a former prisoner at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Correctional Center in Apapa.
Okon claims Iheanacho had boasted of his relation with the former minister and how he used it to ensure he was only charged with manslaughter instead of murder which he committed.
Iheanacho had also revealed that efforts are being made to grant him amnesty soon.
Having witnessed Iheanacho’s behavior first hand in prison, Okon says he had used his connections to buy and use drugs even while in prison, blaming prison authorities for allowing it to happen.

Okon blames the Akwa-Cross Association in Lagos for allowing Ihenacho to kill one of their own and not get punished, calling on them to demand justice for the slain lover, Regina James.
In a statement, Okon said,”SHAME ON YOU AKWA-CROSS ASSOCIATION IN LAGOS George Nkem Iheanocho junior brother to Captain Iheanocho, former Minister of Interior who killed his wife, one of your daughters is living large in prison, and is still boasting in Kirikiri maximum prison of his family’s connection that made sure that he was only charged with manslaughter instead of murder case. And that even the 15 years sentence he was given, will not hold as his family are doing everything to grant him amnesty.
“More shocking is the fact that he said that his current girlfriend before he was sentenced to prison is also from cross River State, and that he will still kill her if he comes out, and she messes up.”

Okon said that Iheanacho always makes this boasting when he visits the Condemned Criminal cell section called C. C. C , (where those who are waiting for execution are kept ) to buy and smoke his Indian hemp, cocaine or Meth which he buys in large quantity boasting that the money he receives daily from their oil company, where he boasts that the depot staff are still loyal to him, will ensure that his hard drug supply can not be disturbed.
“I’m from ikotekpene in Akwaibom, and recently discharged after serving my sentence at the kirikiri maximum security correctional center Apapa, recently, where I witnessed this (Nkem as his popularly known at kirikiri maximum correctional center apapa), make this boasting on several occasions to the chargrin of some of us from akwa ibom, or Cross River, but what can we do as the prison authorities allow that nonsense to go on there.
“The man Nkem, who is so full of himself would even be hailed by those he dashes cocaine and Indian hemp, boasting how he killed my sister a fellow Akwaibomite, and now living like a king at the highest privileged section of the prison called block 2, where he boasts of having all amenities life can afford, all because his brother Captain Iheanocho a former minister of the interior is backing him and indulging him with luxury in prison, and our sister is in the grave apparently crying seeing how the person who murdered her is being allowed to go scot-free! That’s why I say shame to Akwacross association in Lagos for allowing this injustice to be done to one of their daughters,” he added.
