You see, Nigerians are not protesting because they are violent people, or because they just want to protest.

The #Protest is a result of Nigerians quest for a better Nigeria, hence, what Nigerians need is a permanent solution.

#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria

The planned #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest is scheduled to kick off from August 1, and will hold across the 36 states in Nigeria.

Talks of the protest, also tagged #DaysOfRage floods the internet daily, as Nigerians air their grievances against the present government of President Bola Tinubu.

While Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, is yet to endorse this #Protest, the Presidency has accused him of being behind the #Protest.

The irony here is that the Presidency ignored Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), who has been at the forefront of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, to accuse Obi.

Well, that is a discussion for another day.

Now, let’s go back to the big question, is #Protest the solution?

Is #Protest The Solution

Inibehe Effiong, a Lawyer and human rights activist, gave a direct answer to this question.

He spoke during an interview on Channels Television.

According to Effiong, there is no other alternative, protest is the only way.

To him, since the country has leaders who are intentionally deaf to their voices and deliberately blind to their pains, then #Protest may as well be the only solution.

Effiong noted that writing letters to leaders who do not even care to read them is just a waste of time.

Furthermore, the lawyer insisted that Nigerians have been patient enough with the government having given them one year.

Effiong is not the only person who sees protest as the solution to Nigeria’s problem, many others share in this sentiment.

However, there are many others who believe that protest is not the solution.

According to these people, the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest will only lead to another destruction just like the #EndSARS.

These people believe that the President Bola Tinubu-led government’s performance should not be judged in one year, but the administration should be given more time.
