Edo Assembly crisis: police nab seven thugs

Police in Edo State have arrested seven suspected things with firearms in connection with crisis rocking the State House of Assembly.

IbrandTV yesterday, reported that lawmakers had been prevented to gain access to the building as the roof was pulled down and gravel laid at the entrance to prevent entry.

17 lawmakers were unable to sit for plenary due to the development.

The lawmakers, according to findings, made their way to an unknown location to elect Mr Victor Edoror as speaker, and impeached Mr Frank Okiye.

The thugs were arrested with five double-barrel long guns, two single barrel long guns, and ten love cartridges within the Assembly complex premises.

The police had yet to comment on the matter as of the time of filing the report.
