Moments after this fire outbreak, police shot teargas and water at Sim Fubara, the state governor.
Fubara was on his way to the assembly complex after learning of the legislature’s plan to impeach him, but while the building was burning, the police was fending him off.
The incident fueled speculation that the governor and Nyesom Wike, former governor of the state and current Minister of FCT, are at loggerheads.
