As Nigerians found ways to engage in a low key celebration for Easter, kidnappers in Calabar decided to take the opportunity.
They stormed the University of Calabar (UNICAL) and whisked away at least three students.
The abduction was confirmed by the Police Command in Cross River in a statement released on Sunday.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, disclosed that the students were taken from one of the university hostels on campus on Thursday night.
A Safe Return
However, Ugbo did not provide specific details about the incident.
But he mentioned that the police were collaborating with other agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students.
