Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered the indefinite suspension of commercial activities at Dosumu Street and other markets in Lagos State.

You see, fire outbreak in markets is gradually becoming a serious issue in the state and the Governor is all out to tackle it.
However, the one that really touched Sanwo-Olu is the recent fire incident which engulfed four buildings in Dosumu, leading to the collapse of buildings.
It was after that incident that Sanwo-Olu knew that it was time for the government to step in.
The Visit
It was the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Central Business Distress, (CBD), Bola Olumegbon Lawal, who transmitted the Government’s decision in an announcement.
This was made during a visit to the scene of the fire accident to assess the situation.
Lawal announced the immediate closure and suspension of business activities in the market and environs.
According to her, the measure has become necessary to prevent possible loss of life and maintain peace and order in the area.

She further appealed to market women and men in the area to pave the way for emergency respondents who have timely responded to the incident.
This is to ensure that they effectively perform their duties throughout the rescue operations as required.

Obanikoro Streets
Ago Tawa
Idumagbo Avenue
