Many companies, churches and homes using generators powered by diesel must have come to terms with the effect of the price increment on their pockets.
The National Bureau of Statistics said in its diesel price watch report that diesel rose by 9.02% between January and February 2024.
Nigerians are being stretched on all sides with little or no glimpse of hope on the radar.
Amid high inflation rate and food insecurity challenges facing Nigeria, this 9.02% rise in the price of diesel in February 2024 is another nail.

NBS Diesel Price Watch Report
This information was captured in the Diesel Price Watch of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on Wednesday.
On a year-on-year basis, the retail price of a litre of diesel rose from ₦836.91 in February 2023 to ₦1,257.06 in February 2024.
It stated that the February 2024 price was a 50.20% increase over the February 2023 price.
Also, on a month-on-month basis, the price increased by 9.02% from the ₦1,153.01 per litre recorded in January 2024.
States With Highest And Lowest Diesel Price For February
State profile analysis, shows that the highest diesel price in February 2024 was recorded in Akwa Ibom at ₦1,525 per litre.
Followed by Gombe at ₦1,500 per litre and Kwara at ₦1,444 per litre.

While the lowest price was recorded in Adamawa at ₦1,037.50 per litre.
Followed by Kano at ₦1,111.43 per litre and Katsina at ₦1,125 per litre.
Furthermore, the South-South States recorded high price of ₦1,343.09 per litre.
States in the South-West recorded the lowest price at ₦1,164.05 per litre, it added.
