Hollywood star Denzel Washington has confirmed his involvement in the upcoming Black Panther 3, marking one of his final roles before retirement.
The acclaimed actor, currently starring in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2, shared the news during an interview on Today Show Australia.
“I am only interested in working with the best. I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make. Probably not that many,” Washington stated.
He went on to outline his remaining projects, mentioning roles in Othello at age 70, Hannibal, a collaboration with director Steve McQueen, and a character written for him by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.
Washington also expressed plans to tackle King Lear before officially stepping away from acting.
Black Panther, a 2018 Marvel superhero film, starred the late Chadwick Boseman, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, and Winston Duke.
Following Boseman’s passing, the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was released in 2022.
