The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (Deeper Life) celebrated the 50th anniversary of the church with an extraordinary service today, Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Deeper Life Church is an international Pentecostal Christian denomination with its headquarters, Deeper Life Bible Church Lagos, in Gbagada, Lagos.

Here are five things to know about a deeper life at 50.

Founder

It is overseen by the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, and was founded in 1973.

Early Beginning 

The Church started with just 15 members in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos.

Bible Study Group

In 1975, the Bible study group had its first retreat at Akoka, Lagos State, which later became a major landmark in the history of Deeper Life Bible Church.

Church Growth

In the early 1990s, Deeper Life already had more than 5,000 branch churches in Nigeria and many more branches all over Africa.

Big Gathering

The headquarters of the church at Gbagada attracted around 150,000 attendants during its five Sunday services.
