Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s goal scoring exploits in the UEFA Champions League were recognized with a special award at the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League group phase draw ceremony on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Monaco.
The former Sporting Clube de Portugal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward has scored an incredible 140 Champions League goals in 183 appearances.
He leads Lionel Messi by 11 goals and Robert Lewandowski by 46 goals at the top of the scoring charts.
Ronaldo has finished seven separate Champions League seasons as leading scorer, a feat no other player has achieved.
His goal-scoring prowess has been evident throughout his career, from eight goals in Manchester United’s 2007/08 season to 15 goals for Real Madrid in their 2017/18 title win.
Ronaldo holds multiple records in the Champions League, including most goals in a single season (17 in 2013/14) and longest scoring streak (11 successive matches from June 2017 to April 2018).
He has also scored an impressive eight Champions League hat-tricks.
The multiple Ballon d’Or and UEFA Men’s Player of the Year recipient is the all-time leading scorer in all UEFA club competitions (145 goals, 197 appearances) and men’s international football (130 goals, 212 appearances).
