Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Tanko Muhammad, has tested positive to coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic.
Speculation about his health heightened when he was absent at the swearing-in of 72 new senior advocates of Nigeria, SAN, on Monday.
There were also speculations that Muhammad may have travelled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for treatment.
Ibrahim Saulawa, justice of the Supreme Court, disclosed this at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria, MULAN, on Tuesday, December 15, in Abuja.
Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, justice, who stood in for the CJN, administered oaths to the new SANs.

The CJN was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on March 22, 2019, to replace Walter Onnoghen, former CJN, who was controversially removed by the Code of Conduct Bureau who investigated allegations of corruption against him.
Top federal government and State officials have of late been in isolation over their exposure to persons who have tested positive to coronavirus. About 26 military personnel tested positive to COVID-19 last week.
Those in isolation are Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation, who tested negative, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, who tested positive, and Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State.
