The Football Association has fined Chelsea £75,000 for accumulating six yellow cards in their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.
This is the third time this season that the Blues have received six or more yellow cards in a single game.
Chelsea won the match thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, who scored the decisive goal in the second half.
However, the victory came at a cost, as Chelsea’s disciplinary issues continue to plague them.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Christopher Nkunku, Weskey Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto, and Noni Madueke all received yellow cards during the match.
This latest fine brings Chelsea’s total disciplinary penalties to £150,000 this season. They were fined £25,000 for eight cautions in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth and £50,000 for six yellow cards in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea have made unwanted history as the first Premier League team to receive six or more yellow cards in three games within a single campaign.
