Since his hit single “YE” became a global success in 2018, Burna Boy has become one of the biggest artists in the world, breaking multiple African records with his songs, albums, and concerts.
His latest song, “Higher,” has now set a new record for the most streams on the first day for a solo single on Spotify Nigeria.
According to TurnTable Charts, “Higher” was streamed 530,792 times on its first full day, beating the previous record of 518,000 streams held by Wizkid’s song “Diamond.”
This year, Burna Boy has been breaking records left and right.
He recently held a historic sold-out concert at the London Stadium, becoming the first African artist to sell out the venue twice and the first to headline two stadium concerts in the UK.
In addition, Burna Boy set new records for the highest-grossing concert by an African artist in the United States and the highest-grossing tour by an African artist in Canada.
