Nigerian R&B sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is on the brink of making history at the 66th Grammy Awards.
According to Billboard, the internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter is in a strong position to become the first African artist to win two Grammy Awards in one night.
Tems has earned nominations in three highly competitive categories at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
She is in contention for Best African Music Performance with her song Love Me Jeje, while her critically acclaimed album Born In The Wild has secured a nomination for Best Global Music Album.
Additionally, her collaboration on Burning has landed her a spot in the Best R&B Song category.
With these nods, Billboard predicts that Tems is likely to win at least two awards.
However, this solidifies her place in history as a trailblazing African artist.
The Grammy Awards, set to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
The award event will once again be hosted by Trevor Noah.
