Asake continues his dominance in the Nigerian music industry with his third studio album, Lungu Boy, which has made history as the longest-charting No. 1 album on Nigeria’s TurnTable album chart.
The album has held the top spot for 15 weeks since its release on August 8, 2024, surpassing all previous records.
With this milestone, Asake now holds records for both the longest-charting album and the longest-charting single on the TurnTable Charts.
In 2023, his hit song Lonely At The Top spent 11 weeks at No. 1, breaking the record previously held by Omah Lay’s Godly.
Since breaking into the mainstream in 2022, Asake has risen to superstardom with back-to-back hits across his albums Mr Money With The Vibes and Work of Art.
His latest effort, Lungu Boy, features collaborations with prominent artists, including Wizkid, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Anais Cardot.
Notably, MMS, a track featuring Wizkid from Lungu Boy, recently earned a nomination for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.
This marks Asake’s second Grammy nomination in as many years, solidifying his status as a leading force in Afrobeats.
