Argentina Lifts World Cup Trophy After 36 Years

The Argentine national football team, led by Lionel Messi has lifted its third World Cup trophy 36 years after its last.

In an interesting football match against France, Messi wins his first World Cup trophy and second Golden Ball, to wrap up what may be his last World Cup.

The football match held in Qatar saw the Argentine team leading by two to nil in the first half of the tournament finals.

In the second half, Kylian Mbappe gave the 2018 World Cup winners a shot at another possible win with two goals in under two minutes.

Messi scored a third for Argentina in the extra time and Mbappe replicated with a third for his team, achieving a hat-trick.

At the end of the extra time, a penalty shootout was held to determine the world champions.

Argentina won by 4-2 goals in the penalties after Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni missed their penalties for France.

France’s loss dampens Mbappe’s mood as the player outdid himself but still could not take home the trophy.
