AC Milan defender, Alessandro Florenzi is under investigation for alleged illegal gambling, weeks after Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli were banned.
News agency AGI reports that the Milan right-back is being investigated for alleged illegal gambling, as the betting scandal in the country rolls on.
Both Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali have already been banned, for seven months and 10 months respectively.
Florenzi, it is reported, is expected to meet with the Italian prosecutor in the coming days to discuss the case.
He remains a useful member of Milan’s squad and has started five Serie A games this season, while coming off the bench on five other occasions.
The 32-year-old has a contract with Milan until 2025.
He is also a seasoned Italy international, with 49 caps under his belt.

He has played 49 times for the San Siro club since joining in 2022.
He faces an anxious wait over the outcome of the investigation.
Milan return to action on November 25 after the international break, against Fiorentina.
