AC Milan is not given up on signing Gianluca Scamacca, and delivering a counter-offer to Sassuolo might be crucial in discussions.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a meeting between Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara, and Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali was expected after the end of the season, but there is still no word on when or if one will take place.
What is known is that Milan is interested in signing Scamacca, especially since that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out until 2023 due to nee surgery.
The Neroverdi have set a price of €40 million for the Italian striker, particularly after he extended his contract at the end of the season.
Milan are also considering potential counterparts to include in the negotiations in order to reduce the required cash sum, with Lorenzo Colombo and Marco Brescianini – who spent the season on loan to SPAL and Monza, respectively in Serie B – as well as Marco Nasti and Daniel Maldini all being considered.
