Nothing Will Stop APC’s Governor-elect Nwifuru From Being Sworn In – Umahi

Political parties in Ebonyi State have been asked to abolish the politics of clannishness or dance to the music that the state government will be playing soon.

There is an incoming administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. But stakeholders in the state that was for a long time under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are not accepting the victory of the APC in the last election.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Saturday made things clear about the victory of the APC.

He pledged that no force on earth could prevent the APC governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru, from being sworn in on May 28, 2023.

Umahi stated this while speaking to major national leaders and stakeholders in Ebonyi State at the burial of Michael Ekuma Nkama, the father of the Minister of State for Health, Joseph Nkama.

The deceased was buried in Edda community, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Umahi also praised President Muhammadu Buhari for the numerous financial support granted to Ebonyi State.

Buhari’s Inputs In Ebonyi

He claimed that Buhari’s effort resulted in the development of valuable projects in Edda, where the minister, Ekuma Nkama Joseph, comes from.

He also praised the President for approving his ministerial nomination, Joseph Ekuma Nkama, who is now the Minister of State for Health.

Umahi hailed the minister’s late father, who died at the age of 94 years, as a man of peace and harmony.

He cautioned stakeholders of the state to abolish the politics of clannishness, stressing that his administration will stop at nothing to ensure that such action is totally destroyed before the expiration of his tenure.

The outgoing governor, also tasked all well-meaning leaders of the state to give maximum support to the incoming administration led by the governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru.

He charged them to continue with the legacies that were already in place in the state.

He wants all prominent stakeholders and citizens of the state to unite for the growth of the state.

Eschew Social Vices

Earlier in a remark, the Minister of State for Health, Joseph Ekuma Nkama, said his father lived a life of contentment and was free from greed.

He attributed the rise in social vices and youths’ restiveness in society to lack of parental training and greed.

Ekuma Nkama also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari, Ministers, Governor David Umahi and prominent leaders of the nation who attended the burial of his father.

“There is moral decadence in society, there are several social vices present, and parents should return to the foundation of teaching their children to have a high moral standard,” he said.

“Our flourishing lives today are the outcome of what we learned from our father.

“Parents should not be lacking in advising their children to lead good lives so that there are social vices in society,” he added
