Breaking: FG bans Twitter's operations in Nigeria

The Ministry of Information and Culture’s Friday suspension of microblogging platform, Twitter, has finally taken effect in the early hours of Saturday.

Tweeps have begun to panic as they cannot access their twitter accounts since the ban took effect.

First lady, Aisha Buhari, at 11:59pm on Friday, tweeted ”I will be deactivating my twitter account for now. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria,” moments before taking her account down, however, the personal account of President Muhammadu Buhari, and the official account of the Nigerian president are still active.

Recall that the federal government announced its suspension of twitter on Friday.
